CBD ( Cannabidiol ) is one of the naturally occurring compounds found in the Cannabis plant, also known as hemp or marijuana. It is the second most active component in cannabis. CBD, being a component of marijuana, does not cause a “high” like THC does.

In humans, it shows no effects revealing of any dependence potentials or abuse. To date, there is no evidence of public health-related complications linked with the use of CBD.

Does CBD Help With Epilepsy?

CBD has been hyped for a wide variety of health issues. But the strongest scientific indication is for the effectiveness in treating some of the most challenging childhood epilepsy syndromes, such as Dravet syndrome or (LGS) Lennox-Gastant syndrome, which characteristically don’t respond to antiseizure medications.

Different studies have shown that cannabis is able to reduce the number of seizures drastically, and in other cases, put an end to the seizure altogether. Suggestions from studies are that CBD may help in both falling and staying asleep for patients who grieve through the desolation of insomnia. It is also normally used to address anxiety.

What Else Can CBD Help With?

CBD may offer a possibility for treating different kinds of chronic pains. According to a European Journal of Pain, using an animal model displayed that CBD applied to the skin could help lessen pain and inflammation due to arthritis.

Another study confirmed the mechanics with which CBD impedes inflammatory and neuropathic pain, two of the most problematic type of chronic pains to treat. However, more studies in human beings are needed to validate CBD proponents’ claims about pain control.

Side effects associated with it are irritability, fatigue, and nausea. CBD’s significant safety is that it is primarily marketed and sold not as medication/ but a supplement.
